The automotive sector has been working for years on prototypes capable of interacting with the environment. Some high-end car manufacturers are already incorporating pedestrian detection systems; a system that is advancing to be effective also in low visibility environments, such as night driving. Gesture control is another novelty that will allow us with a movement of the hand to modify the volume of the music or answer a phone call without even having to physically touch the control panel. But the future holds much more!
Toyota is working on a prototype whose innovative design is truly amazing. It is the Toyota Fun Vehicle interactive internet, which has already been colloquially nicknamed Fun Vii. This model, in addition to incorporating the augmented reality technology that we have all heard of (holographic GPS), conceives the entire body of the vehicle as a “tuneable” surface, like a giant led screen on which to view images, colors, animations or content.
The interior of the Fun Vii is also modifiable.
It is enough to program from our smartphone what we want it to show to the outside. In this way, we can change the color, make the whole body a landscape or turn it into an advertising “fence” on which to project any graphic design or animation (with the added advantage that we can change the campaigns at any time ). Sensational right?
Undoubtedly, the massive introduction of this innovative technology will completely transform vehicle wrapping as we know it today, rendering it obsolete; In the same way that in the future we will also wear "smart" clothes and our way of accessing the functions of the electrical appliances that we will have at home will radically change, being able to program and control them remotely, through a holographic screen or with a command of voice. There are still a few years for this scenario to be the usual one, but, without a doubt, the future is already "drawn" and signage and graphic design will also adopt new technologies, such as those that we have been presenting to you in this blog, to offer new forms of graphic communication.
